Our Products: 'Incredible'

Rebar Pod

30” x 30”
Heights: 5.75”, 8.5” and 19.7”

The rebar pod is our workhorse. First installed in 2013 in New Zealand and Australia, its been used in thousands of foundations. Developers of warehouses, data centers, and multi-family projects love using the Biax rebar pod in their slabs because they not only experience significant savings in soils prep, materials, and building cycletime — all leading to considerable hard dollar cost savings — when compared to alternative foundations, but future improvements or modifications are also a snap, a fact appreciated when the plumbing needs to be moved, racking changed, or new equipment brought in. And, don’t forget to look at the rebar pods when you’re doing that pavement surrounding a structure, or even as a ‘void’ (we have a really good paper detailing all the benefits and big cost savings, so hit that link).

Re the rebar connectors, how about this for simple: one connector does it all for our rebar pods. They not only securely lock the pods together, but they also act as a holder for the steel reinforcing, meaning no more chairs and/or wire ties.

P/T Pod

30” x 30”
Heights: 10″ and 14″

When we say ‘Our Products: Incredible,‘ Biax pods for post-tension slabs are a prime example. Introduced in late 2023, the pods utilize 4th gen technology to not only deliver the strongest and most reliable slab on grade foundation available today, but also one that is installed in less time and for a lot less cost. The Biax post-tension products will produce a foundation that conforms to all PTI and IBC guidelines, and is also made — like the rebar pod — of recycled polypropylene, an environmental feature that’s definitely part of our guidelines. We’re excited about our P/T product, and feel it will sweep the market for on grade post-tensioned foundations going forward.

Finally, there are two connectors for the P/T pods, one that locks the pods and cables at the bottom, another that bridges pods at the top and holds a top cable. And, as with the connectors for the rebar pods, it’s adios/au revoir/sayonara to chairs and/or wire ties.

Have questions about Biax

When you need to consider Biax:

If you’re building on expansive, compressible, liquefiable or rocky soils.

Installing an in-ground ribbed slab with at least 12” beams that are 15′ or less on center.

Plans call for a 10” – or greater – uniform thickness slab.

Requirements are to perform pre-construction soil prep of:

  • 12” or more overex and recompaction before your slab is even started.
  • Extensive off haul because of grading, and you can’t use it to balance the site.
  • Any presoaking.

Using drilled piers and/or piles alone and are spaced close together.

You are even thinking about trying to build on those rocky soils!

And what you get when you do:

Biaxial design. Significantly improves load and stress distribution – just one of the reasons a Biax slab delivers superior performance when compared to alternatives.

Incredible strength – and safety. Strong enough to walk on, they can also manage the loading of mid-sized screeds. In addition, antislip nibs cover the top of the pod.

Stacking and transport. Tapered sides provide a snug fit on pallets, and enable a 40′ trailer to hold enough to construct about 15,000 sf of foundation slab.

Ease of installation. Biax pods can only be set one way, and are designed to minimize lift once laid on grade.

All weather and extremely eco-friendly. Made of recycled polypropylene plastic. Not only more than durable in most climate conditions (they can be stored outside), but produced with a ‘green’ factor in mind.
